Am Samstag fahren die Zweitliga-Handballerinnen an die niederländische Grenze nach Kamp-Lintfort. Dort ist der TuS Lintfort beheimatet: Ein etablierter Zweitligist, der in Martina Grenz-Klein von der Dienstältesten Trainerin gecoacht wird. Die Übungsleiterin zeichnet seit über 20 Jahren in der nordrhein-westfälischen Kleinstadt, die im Regierungsbezirk Düsseldorf liegt, verantwortlich.
Die Bunkerladies müssen am Samstag, den 19. Oktober, um 17:30 Uhr an die holländische Grenze. Der TuS Lintfort ist nach den Erfahrungen aus der Vorsaison zu Hause immer mit Vorsicht zu genießen.
Nach drei Niederlagen in Serie „endlich wieder jubeln“
Ebenso wie der Gegner aus der Oberpfalz muss Grenz-Klein einen personellen Umbruch moderieren: Mit Prudence Kinlend und Lena Heimes (Wechsel zum Aufsteiger Bergischer HC), Maxime Drent (Kreuzlingen, Schweiz) sowie Dana Gruner (Bad Wildungen) verließen zusammengerechnet 461 Tore und damit mehr als die Hälfte der 817 Tore der Vorsaison den TuS. Als Ersatz wurden die beiden Holländerinnen Eline Veltrop (22 Jahre) und Nyah Metz (23), Svenja Rottwinkel (29), Talent Nathalie Corsten (19) sowie die erfahrene Montenegrinerin Milica Vlahovic (32) verpflichtet. Rückraum-Allrounderin Rottwinkel, dem ESV aus ihrer Aldekerker Zeit bekannt, ist 24/14 Treffern in vier Partien die erfolgreichste Werferin. Linksaußen Metz kommt auf 21 Feldtore, Halblinks Veltrop (17), die zuletzt gegen Nürtingen fehlte, weist mit 5,7 den höchsten Feldtore-Durchschnitt auf. Mit 2:6 Punkten will der Tabellendreizehnte (2:6 Punkte) vor den eigenen Fans mit einem Erfolg die Abstiegszone vermeiden und nach drei Niederlagen in Serie „endlich wieder jubeln“.
Gegner auf Augenhöhe
Der Jubel beim Gegner aus Regensburg ist nicht so lange her, denn am vergangenen Samstag, den 12. Oktober, konnte im heimischen „Bunker“ der 1. FSV Mainz 05 mit 25:22 besiegt werden. Mit 4:4 Punkten wurde der achte Tabellenplatz verteidigt. Nachdem in den ersten beiden Auswärtsspielen in Rödertal und Halle-Neustadt zwei Aufstiegskandidaten auf der Agenda standen, sieht ESV-Trainer Bernhard Goldbach im TuS nun einen „Gegner auf Augenhöhe“. Der ESV-Übungsleiter ergänzt: „Wenn wir in Lintfort etwas holen, haben wir wieder einen wichtigen Schritt geschafft. Das ist eine große Chance für uns, die wir gerne nutzen wollen.“ Mit einer Abwehr- und Torhüterleistung wie zuletzt gegen Mainz haben die Bunkerladies auch die Möglichkeit auf die ersten Auswärtspunkte, im Angriff müssen die Chancen aber effektiver genutzt werden. „Gerade bei den freien Gelegenheiten müssen wir effektiver werden und uns für die Ballgewinne samt gut herausgespielter Möglichkeiten öfter belohnen“, mahnt der ESV-Coach.
Kleinigkeiten können eine große Auswirkungen haben
Bis zur vergangenen Saison war Lintfort eine Art Lieblingsgegner des ESV: In den ersten vier Kräftemessen verbuchte Regensburg 7:1 Punkte. In der vergangenen Runde drehte der TuS dann den Spieß um und auch zwei Rückstände. In Lintfort lag die ersatzgeschwächten Bunkerladies sogar im zweiten Durchgang mit sechs Treffern in Front, um am Ende mit 29:34 den Kürzeren zu ziehen. Die erste Niederlage in Lintfort überhaupt hatte aber keinen Bestand, da der TuS aufgrund einer unberechtigt eingesetzten Spielerin die Punkte aberkannt bekam. „Der Druck liegt bei den Gastgeberinnen und das kann ein Vorteil für uns sein. Wir müssen voll dagegenhalten und das bessere Ende für uns erzwingen“, sagt der Sportliche Leiter Robert Torunsky. Wie so oft in der ausgeglichenen Liga wird es auf Kleinigkeiten ankommen, die tabellarisch aber große Auswirkungen haben.
