Am Dienstag wurde durch einen bislang unbekannten Täter ein Brand in einer Kapelle in einem Waldstück in Falkenstein im Landkreis Cham gelegt. Die Kriminalpolizei Regensburg ermittelt und sucht Zeugen.
Gegen Dienstagmittag, den 22. Oktober, stellte ein Ehepaar bei einer Wanderung bei Falkenstein aus einer Kapelle aufsteigenden Rauch fest. Im Innenraum waren bereits Flammen zu sehen, sodass die beiden Wanderer umgehend die Feuerwehr verständigten.
Schaden im fünfstelligen Bereich
Die ortsansässige Feuerwehr konnte im Anschluss den Brandherd löschen. Durch den Brand entstand ein geschätzter Schaden an der Einrichtung in Höhe von einem mittleren fünfstelligen Eurobetrag. Die Kriminalpolizei Regensburg geht derzeit von Brandstiftung aus. Verletzt wurde durch den Brand niemand.
Die Regensburger Kriminalpolizei hat die Ermittlungen in diesem Fall übernommen. Die Spuren am Brandort wurden gesichert. Die Kriminalpolizei Regensburg bittet um Mithilfe der Bevölkerung. Zeugen sollen sich unter der Rufnummer 0941/ 506-2888 oder bei jeder anderen Polizeiinspektion melden.
